THE VIEW FUCK YEAH

Mar 30, 2013 02:53

Made it to the gig! I was about 15 minutes late, but it's fine! Setlist (a little out of order I'm sure):

Hold On
Clocks
Face for the Radio (Kieren needed a wee so he was gone for this)
Same jeans
Superstar Tradesman
Sunday
Shock Horror

(I'm missing one, I can't remember which, I went to pee. I'm not sure what they were playing as I came in as I was in a psychotic kind of daze after the drive and trying to put in my earplugs, put my ticket away and show my ID. Something from the new album, which still don't know very well tbh.)

Then they were done, but after a few minutes Kyle and Mo came out and said they fucked up last night and wanted to redeem themselves, so they did Don't Look Back in Anger. IT WAS SO GOOD.

There were less than 30 people there but everybody, band included, was going crazy. It was so intimate, it was like they were playing at someone's house. I was like 4 feet away from them! This girl kept yelling for Kyle to take off his shirt and once he figured out what she was saying he said while pointing at his chest 'it's a concealed weapon!' CHEEKY MONKEY.

After, they came out and I said hi to Mo and told him they were great and that I drove 4 hours and it was worth it and he seemed very pleased! Then I edged over to Kyle where these 3 jarhead guys were hogging him. And Kyle finally darted between them to say hi and shake my hand, and I had to tell him too that I drove 4 hours and thanked him for coming over to visit and how much fun I had and THANK YOU, then I had to go because I was exhuasted and had a very long drive home. (lol one of the jarheads said 'we drove 3 hours!' to try to get Kyle's attentionz again but Kyle just grinned at me and said 'ah thanks!') I wanted to say hi to Kiery but there were too many people in front of me and I was shaking like crazy already from meeting Kyle and I knew I had to get going because I'd been up since 5:30 and my eyes were so tired already, but he looked FIIIIINE. I didn't stop shaking for a good 30 minutes into the drive. STARSTRUCK. They looked so pleased with themselves and I loved it. They seemed really chuffed that we all loved them so much. I REALLY wanted this shirt but funds are low.

It was very difficult to understand anything they said and I loved that, too. Kyle is so short! And he had no socks on, and he had on his denim jacket! They weren't at all bothered by the tiny crowd because all of us clearly adored them, it was a big love-in. I'm sure they're losing money on this tour but they looked like they were having the time of their lives up there. And they sounded wonderfulllllll. It was a long stressful hellish drive for a few songs (I may have missed an important turn and gone an hour out of my way what with backtracking, sighhhhhhhh) but it was SO SO WORTH IT.

The stage lights fucked up my pictures, then when I was meeting them it was SO dark so I didn't even try. My phone only takes decent pictures if there is good lighting. But here are a few I took. I kept trying to get Pete but he stood back a bit, it was too dark. Lol I think maybe he was hungover, he was the only who was sort of subdued and he didn't come out after.

Much love to them, Arctic Monkeys and 1D for keeping me awake for the long road home.

crazy mo, kieren webster, omg, kyle falconer, gigs, my heart, the view, i am so happy
