on the other hand,
yesterday, while cycling in to campus, i rolled down along
the Charles River and passed a guy with a trombone who was out
on the grassy riverbank, apparently practicing his craft.
he was very, very novice at horn blowing, to put it nicely.
however, the mild spectacle of a swooping brass horn on a sunny day
enthusiastically blaring away incoherent scales without shame
was pure delight. and really, i can't think of a better place
to practice in a crowded city than across the river :)
