First - non-spoilery comment:
Holy Crap Michael Shanks - I barely recognized him.
Okay two a few things:
Orange cones flanking the devil's trap in front of the church? Yeah THOSE puppies are gonna stop a demon.
WTF? Random much there Dean? Hey there was this chick, who was fun to bang, and has a kid that isn't my kid, but I liked, so I'm gonna go barter for their safety?
Yes, yes. You're mad at Sam. You're tired of playing big brother. You're all pissy about everything 'cause Sammy doesn't love you anymore based on the fact that you like SHARE HEAVEN with him. And he obviously must hate being around you because IN A WORLD THAT ZACHARIAH spends a lot of time in you saw Sam being happy alone.
I'm sorry - I think the episode had enough emotional impact without that. I know they've been showing how Dean really wants family and secretly wants to have the white picket life that Sam used to want, but that scene just felt too tacked on.
And really Lisa? I can sympathize. he's gorgeous and a hero, but maybe those aren't the best terms to be agreeing to enthusiatically enter into a relationship in an "I feel the same way" vein.
I appreciate the fact that you saw he was about to go do something stupid, and that you tried to stop it. But I think you might want to rethink your desire to jump into romance with the guy.
Minor side point? Dean of all people was surprised at seeing a 12-year-old packing salt rounds? Did he just erase entire segments of his childhood from his memory?
And thank you Kripke for turning this into Saved By The Bell. I was worried for a while that it was actually Buffy in disguise, but you fooled me. Zack (Dean) and Kelly (Sam) have broken up again... Wait, wait. Maybe it's Buffy: the Bell Saver? Hmmm.
Wait - now that I think about it. It IS still Buffy. Dean (Willow) is going, uh, light side and Sam (Xander) is going to bring him back with the break-y yellow necklace (crayon).
Next week's episode looks like another emotional wringer. I'm secretly hoping that alcoholic Cas kicks Dean's ass, but I have the bad feeling about it.
