"You are confusing me!"

One of my favourite conversations from "Mind Your Language"; even my parents cracked up at this and they're usually real serious.Context: Mr. Brown, the teacher of a class teaching English as a foreign language, is getting his students to construct sentences with different conjugated forms of the verb "to be"...

Brown: Ali, "you are".
Ali: ...
Brown: You are...?
Ali: ...You are waiting for me to speak an answer!
Brown: *laughs* Well done!
Ali: Unfortunately I am not understanding the question!
Brown: I wanted you to give me a sentence using "you are".
Ali: I am!
Brown: No not "I am"! "You are"! For example, "You are from Pakistan."
Ali: I am from Pakistan!
Brown: Goo- yes but now use "you are".
Ali: But I cannot say you are from Pakistan because you are not Ali!
Brown: Repeat after me: "You are English!"
Ali: No no I am from Pakistan!
Brown: *exasperated* WHAT AM I?!
Ali: You are confusing me!

tv, quoted, hahahahaha!
