Dungeons and Dragons Online has been free to play now for a while and some of the guys have started playing it. Against my better judgement (I'm not really a fan of MMO's) I have been dragged in.

Ignoring the fact that the setting of choice was Eberron (a game world I hate with a passion), it isn't too bad. Graphically it looks a lot like Star Trek Online which is nice, but it doesn't have the ease of game play. STO is fairly straight forward and I'm still picking up the ins & outs of DDO.

I don't think it's the sort of game I would stick with but as something which is free to play, I may pick it up from time to time.

STO still holds my attention but I'm having a break until they add the diplomacy missions and mechanics at the end of the month. I'm also looking forward to next year when the 40K Dark Millennium Online goes live. If that is as fun as it looks in the trailer I may put STO on the backburner for longer.
