Doctor Who: The Runaway Bride

I rather enjoyed it, but I did have a fever at the time. *wink*

Donna was annoying (as expected) but she was good for the Doctor at that moment because she helped to put Rose into perspective without having him wallow in emotion. Tart is good after sweet. ( Read more... )

You know, I really enjoyed it this week... even if it was more soap than sci fi. ;-)

Thought it was a bit crap actually. Not "absolutely terribly awful with no redeeming features and I wish I hadn't wasted my life on it" bad... just a bit crap. Am I destined to like the ones that others hate and hate the ones that others love..?

I liked it. As always, this comes with caveats.

Good Bits:

• Half naked sweaty man having a nightmare. My favourite cliche. :-)
  
• Nice cgi on the "fairies".
• Loved the vomiting of flower petals - both random AND gross.

It wasn't perfect...

1. Why was the cyber conversion unit so throughly hooked up? If Ianto wanted to heal her, why set up the big cutting thing..?!!

This show is definitely on an upwards trajectory. I wanted a faster paced episode with a tighter script and I do believe I got one. There was even a bit more depth given to the characters.

Finally got to watch Torchwood last night (long story involving me deciding who the killer in Prime Suspect was about 20 mins into the first episode and just having to watch the second on Sunday... to be proven correct - I rule! *happy grin ( Read more... )
