So it is finally hitting me that this semester is halfway over. Next week is midsemester break. I am planning on going with Monica and Jessie to Illinois, spending a few days in Chicago and a few more in Decatur. It's not anywhere warm, but it should be nice to get away and do a little traveling. And that also means that I only have a half a semester left of my college career. I am still not even used to saying I'm a senior in college. Now I'm going to have to get used to saying I'm a graduate. An alum. So weird. It doesn't help that we just got the schedule in our mail for graduation weekend!
The past few weeks have been amazing. Jeff came down for a night on Monday. He is pretty much done with school and I'm crossing my fingers and wishing on the 11:11s that he'll get a job that he really wants (which just happens to be in my old hometown, and really close!). And then Wednesday BJ called me and said that he was trying to come down that night for the weekend (this was his spring break week). So he did and it was great having him here for so long, although it went by really fast. And his car died on us once we got back to my house from picking him up at the bus station, but he got it fixed and took it back to school. We saw Capote, which was just so/so I thought.
And I have still been working hard on school stuff. I had two midterms last week, which I ended up doing better than I thought I would on. A large part of that is because Jeff helped me study for my Molecular Genetics class. And I have an essay midterm due this week, as well as a test on Thursday. And another group project/debate for my Biogeochemistry class. Man..the group projects...not such a fan. I feel like I've done a million projects for this class. And I skipped my first class last week, which is pretty good since it is halfway through the semester.
For my independent study I actually got to teach a science lesson in the 4th grade class I volunteer at down the road. I was teaching phases of the moon and the orbit of earth and why we have seasons. The students were asking tons of questions so I could barely get through the lessons I had planned, but it was good that they were so interested. I had a lot of fun with it. I think it will be fun to teach in the Peace Corps.
And BJ got an interview with the Christian Science Monitor. They said he was a "finalist" like it's a game show or something. But the interview went really well and I have a feeling he is going to get this internship. And then I will make him do it because it will be amazing for him. Which means that we will not be together for most of the summer. Ugh, that is going to be hard. We are just too damn smart for each other! heh. But I guess nothing is decided yet so I should just wait and see what happens. But I am usually right about these things.
