New family member
I finally made it to Buena Vista to visit Dad & my stepmom - this was the Christmas visit that had been postponed due to weather. While I was down there, Dad convinced me to visit the animal shelter for which he serves on the Board of Directors. Usually, I avoid shelters because I know I'll want to take every kitty home with me (though I don't feel quite so bad at no-kill shelters like this one). And of course, I did end up with a new kitty.
This is Eilian's shelter picture. He's about nine months old, obviously a Maine Coon like my RK, whom I lost in late January to illness. He and Misty aren't quite sure what to make of each other yet - he's currently curled up under my bed. (It's been a rather traumatic day, since it started with a two-hour car ride that traversed various mountain passes and dropped about mile in altitude.) His former owners simply up and moved and left him behind.
I sort of wibbled over a name, trying out various names that would work with his silver colouring, but Eilian ('rainbow' in Sindarin) just seemed to fit.
