Happenings

Was glad I had forked out for titanium specs when I accidentally trod on them on Tuesday. Went out and bought myself two 9kg weights. The 7.5kgs-for-an-hour-in-each-hand were getting too easy.

Wednesday was last day of term, an Ancient Day at Geelong Preparatory College. Started off with the Year 7's all together for Gladiators, which worked very well. Lots of good reactions from students and teachers. It is fun being able to work a crowd (particularly a crowd of conscripts, as school students mostly are).

Then three sessions of Rulers & Subjects. Afterward, Ro/Vandel & I had lunch at Irish Murphy's before I dropped him home and then swapped cars back. I had picked the work station wagon up the previous night, since Ro was meeting me at the school (he stayed overnight with friends in Geelong), so I was able to drive straight there in the morning.

N. had failed to pack the trident. I keep expecting him to get the packing right even though he regularly forgets the trident.

Was very sleepy when I got home--having a truck lose its load in the Domain tunnel didn't help, since it slowed traffic on the Citylink to a crawl. But, after a short lie-down, went off to monstah and wystan's place for dinner. Got to play with Tyne and see Trog, which was good. Had not been to their new Brunswick residence before.

monstah fed me dip, blue cheese and lots of corned beef and vegetables. (I normally hate peas, but the baby peas were fine.) Lashings of food and alcohol meant I kept dropping off to sleep on the lounge, so they offered to put me up for the night. Which I accepted gratefully. The very high-off-the-floor overbed was a bit intimidating getting in and out of, but very comfortable while in it.

Drove back home a bit after 7am this morning. Am very sleepy today, partly as end-of-term reaction and partly as tail-end of this viral thingy.

Found the classic I am a Dark Elf post has a new home. Started reading one of wystan's R A Salvatore Drizzt books while I was visiting, but did not feel inclined to borrow it. Did confirm that the full Kama Sutra (wystan has a copy of the Danielou translation) has a clear reference to same-sex marriage, which is what I remembered it having.
