Wednesday, Ro/V and I drove to Casterton (Kelpie country, in case you didn't know) to do a Medieval & Ancient Day at Casterton Secondary School on Thursday. Stayed with a teacher in a Departmental house (very nice, apparently it was built for a principal) a couple of doors from the school Wednesday night. Left Melbourne vaguely 11ish, go to Casteron a bit after 5pm, lunch at Irish Murphy's in Ballarat.
A couple of other female teachers came over for their regular Ugly Betty Wednesday night, bringing salads contributing to a fine meal.
The Year 7's (who I had first period for Rulers & Subjects and last period for Religion & Technology) were angels. The Year 8's (who I had for Troubadors, Crime & Punishment, Fashion & Dress and Dance) were a bit of a challenge but we managed.
Drove back after school, dinner at Ballarat at Irish Murphy's. (The food's good and they have Bulmer's on tap, what can I say). About 20 kilometres before Ballarat coming down a hill in the dark, I hit a kangaroo. Actually, the kangaroo hit me. A bit startling. Only panel damage to my car (the driver's side door doesn't open properly). Had to drive quite a bit before I could find somewhere to stop, so no idea how the kangaroo is.
Dropped the trailer off at the studio, drove Ro/V to his place about 11pm. By that stage, the rain was so bad I decided to hang around to see if it was going to lighten. So I was present when Ro/V opened the letter giving them 14 days to vacate allegedly because the rent was 14 days late (Ro/V has been interstate a lot recently). They have been in that house for six years. And he's going to Pennsic. So, it's a complete bugger. [But has now been
reprieved.]
Gave him a sympathy hug and, since the rain had lightened up, came home.
On a lighter note, Little Karen is visiting from Canberra next week, so we plan to catch up.
