the stress is getting to me

I have spontaneously (well, Amanda suggested it) composed some lovely election-themed poetry:

the election haiku
who will win the race?
no one can name the victor
but i cannot wait

the haiku about kerry's chin
john kerry's huge chin--
i cannot remove my eyes.
he's very ugly.

the hounddog haiku
the gaunt, mournful hound
and the eager terrier--
democratic dogs!

the if-kerry-won (god forbid) haiku
he can't be on t.v.--
our president frankenstein
it is too painful.

the bad grammar haiku
a word to kerry--
misunderestimating
bush could be fatal.

the election limerick
on november the second oh four,
we the people will settle the score:
will it be bush who wins?
or john kerry and his chin?
if kerry, i fear we're done for

the kerry-bashing limerick
there once was a man called kerry.
the size of his chin made us merry.
he resembled a hound,
his opinions weren't sound,
for the next day he'd think the contrary!

the election sonnet
john kerry is an evil man; he has an enormous chin.
he cannot stick to anything; he oft changes his mind.
if we vote him into office, it would be really be a sin,
even though he is married to the coarse but rich ms. heinz

george bush is firm and honest; he cares not what others say;
spreading freedom o'er the globe and defending our homeland.
we can count on dubya to be steadfast and never sway,
even if his grammar is often hard to understand.

tonight the ballots are cast; the end at last is in sight.
may the man who'll best command us win the fight!
