Before I forget, does anyone use the new editor? I tried, but didn't like a few things. Additionally, do tags like lj-cuts work normally or what? I try to not be "it's new and weird" and resistant, but I love my lj-cuts.
We have two cleaning robots (from iRobot): a roomba, which works reasonably well and we use it very often, and a braava (nicknamed moopa), which is a mopping robot, which seems to have lots of random errors. One of my coworkers joke around that I must get commission from iRobot since I often advertise the roomba. And in general, I think the roomba is very good for upkeep and maintenance. Like I often say that you wouldn't use it to clean up a mess, and it doesn't eliminate sweeping, but it reduces how often it's needed. Our roomba runs basically three times a week and it gets pretty full of dust and (mainly) fur. So it definitely does it thing. And it always makes me think "how dirty were things before" since it goes at a very frequent rate.
Now the moopa is a different matter. Since it uses a wet cloth and water reservoir, the robot doesn't just random go about a room. Instead, it uses a "cosmic cube" (not real term) which is supposed to help map a room, and the moopa tries to go in lines, in an ordery fashion. I think that's what causes lots of errors. It often seems to work okay in very square room without too much furniture, but how many rooms are like that? But like the roomba, I think when we run it, it gets pretty dirty so it probably means that it's doing its job.
In other news, I started to play Assassin's Creed: Rogue during the shutdown. Since Angie uses my computer to work from home, I decided to start a console game. Overall, I'd say it's pretty decent. It's basically Black Flag 2 but I'd say with a better story/main character. And even though I didn't get to play as much as I would have liked, I'm making good progress through it. It's also very good that it's not too long of a game. I find people seem to be very pro "content", but I often find, especially in open world games, it feels like they just put lots of random, meaningless crap just to push the play time up.
As the title stated, I'll be back in the office/lab tomorrow. I wouldn't say it'd be too bad, although I suspect it'll be decently crazy and busy early, partly because I have lots of things going on, but mainly because partner groups can't seem to stay organized and communicate well, ugh. Mo money, mo problems, right? At least I have the mo money part now.
And my side of the family officially canceled a gathering for gift giving. So I'll see when my little brother (who works around my house) can stop by and pick up his/his twin's gifts. And I guess I'll figure out some way to get Howie his gifts. Unfortunate, but whatever. Even if I'm not personally worried, I can't say others shouldn't be. So it's not ideal, but understandable.
