In non-vacation news, I finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider last weekend. Overall, I'd say I enjoyed the game. And I think the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy was quite good. I'd say it was a less story driven version of the Uncharted franchise, but with more RPG elements and collectibles. I also enjoyed the puzzles, tombs, and crypts a fair amount. But for some reason, this latest game, the graphics seemed worse, mainly the people, so I don't know if it was a change in character design or if Lara Croft just ages poorly, but that was odd. And even though the voice actor was the same, the voice acting seemed weaker. There'd be times that she seemed bored, but maybe she's just being more British? But I would say the tombs/crypts were probably better in this game. As a negative, I think you spend way too much time in one large town and you are limited in that town. But overall, I enjoyed the game a good amount.
I started Star Ocean: Till the End of Time last weekend, but pretty much just played the intro (about 1 hr in). I've heard amazing things about Star Ocean: The Second Story so I'm interested to see how this third game is. I saw they were thinking of (or already) remade it, so that probably means it was at least well received.
Additionally, I've been trying to play a little Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO). I used to play Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source many years ago (10+) and enjoyed it. I was never good at it, but whatevers. I've been playing a little with Steve and Hugh, but I told Steve to try to get Mike to play too. It'd be ideal to get a team of 5 since it's a 5v5 game when you play for reals.
In non-gaming news, it had the first somewhat real snowfall of the season yesterday. It was forecasted to be less so I actually was told (suggested) to go home early. When I got home, I had to shovel the driveway before I could park since my car is super bad in snow. The slope of the driveway is too much if there's even an inch of snow for my car to climb up.
This weekend, we'll try to watch Overlord which appears to be a J.J. Abrams comedy horror about Nazi zombies? Seems interesting enough and we haven't seen a movie in a while. But I also saw that both Widows and Creed II come out soon or are already out. So it'll be at least a few movies in the next few weeks.
