Thursday evening, we went to Angie's parent's for the Moon Festival, or Mid-Autumn Festival, which apparently is different than the Lunar Festival somehow. Anyway, we arrived there plenty early so we took Alfie and Molly (mother-in-law's dog) for a walk. We got back and we quite hungry and still waiting around. We helped with a few things and waited until people eventually got there.
Apparently, Jerry (nephew: Angie's brother's son) recently started keeping five little chicks as pet. He brought them and they were cute, although a bit loud. Then Julie (Angie's sister) brought their rabbit over. The kids were having a good time with the animals, although I'm not sure if the animals were enjoying themselves. I remember hearing someone say "it's like cute animals day!". That probably made Alfie sad since he's always around and very cute!
Speaking of which, I had to use a coupon at Petco that day and I bought Alfie a Halloween costume. He doesn't like it, but all the humans enjoyed it very much!

Such a cute little lion! (

This weekend was the New York Comic Con.
NYCC 2017 - Friday
This year, we decided to do Friday and Saturday, which was really nice since we could stay out on Thursday. So New York is always super frustrating, but parking wasn't bad. The convention is at the Javits Center, but they also have panels at other places: the Hammerstein Ballroom and the Theater at MSG. So we were going to the Hammerstein for a panel. We winded up walking around in circles since Apple sucks and their stupid map application doesn't label roads so you have to rely on the GPS, which doesn't always work.
But we eventually got to the panel, which was about Philip K. Dick shows, The Man in the High Castle and a new anthology series (Electric Dreams), which Ron Moore (famous from Star Trek, but also did Battlestar Galatica and Outlander)is involved in. I haven't seen Man in the High Castle yet, although I read the book. I was more interested in Electric Dreams and Ron Moore. But we arrived late and they were mostly done with it although I got to see a trailer. Apparently, its released in the UK, so maybe I'll search for it.
People, Ron Moore is the second from the left. Two from him is Davos. Two from him is Philip Dick's daughter who is a producer too.(

After that, we went to MSG for a Pacific Rim: Uprising panel. I saw the first movie and thought it was okay. Angie liked it. I thought it was a poor/dumber Neon Genesis: Evangelion, but Angie thought it was a more joyful/less pretentious Eva. Anyway, I mainly went because John Boyega (Finn from The Force Awakens) was going to be there. I picked up a free cap, which is actually pretty decent and the movie seems okay. I generally have a positive opinion of John Boyega and he's a producer (probably from his Star Wars wealth).

The director, the annoying scientist from the first movie, a new girl (literally her first movie), Clint Eastwood's kid, and Finn from Star Wars (

This year, we did fairly last minute costumes because we are poor like that. And since we had no good ideas, I went with the homemade suit from Spider-man: Homecoming. I generally thought it was good and it was pretty easy to put together. It was very hot though since it was abnormally warm this weekend. Angie was doing Silk in the web-costume, which basically was a bikini with bandages and Halloween webbing. We didn't take a nice picture before because I wasn't sure how much Angie liked her costume (more on that later).
Anyway, we headed to the Javits Center, which was where the expo floor was. We were going to walk around for a bit, but the footwear Angie had was very bad and she got blisters on her feet and was generally sad. And since we were going to come back the next day, we decided to head out early. But I got some photos:
Skeletor and associate? I don't know why my photo taking abilities were so bad. (

A very good Voltron, defender of the universe! Possibly the best costume I saw. (
