Three Happy Things

Dec 09, 2012 22:49

I have been doing this on my Facebook fairly regularly, except when I posted a very short 30 Days of Thanksgiving in November. Anyway, since I know that some of you do not really lurk so much on the book of face, I decided I would share them here on occasion as well. Well, actually share and expand in this case...

1) Finalizing travel plans for the holiday trip. NYC is out, but I am still heading up to Baltimore and vicinity pre-Christmas for a few days before I head back to my parents in NC for the actual holiday. I am in contact with various people about plans and have been invited to stay at a friend's place in Baltimore proper as well as in Delaware. I will stop in Alabama twice to see friends and likely hit Atlanta on the way back as well. Once I get my car worked on this week (belts, fluid drain and refill, new tires, perhaps new shocks and exhaust/catalytic converter check), I will feel much better about the possibility. She is only a bit over 5 years old, but the Versa now has almost 137K miles on it. It is time for a bit of babying prior to that kind of drive. Thankfully, I do not need to do new brakes thanks to the skills of sparkygearhead this past summer.

2) Completed my online exam for my Business Information Systems class, made an A, added the point total, and know I have made an A in the class. Hope this winds up being the first of 4 total.

3) I had a date tonight with a very nice guy I have been getting to know over the past few weeks. We both have very busy schedules, so he invited me to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. We were there for 3 hours talking over a vast number of subjects and get on very well. This is actually the second time we have had a meal together, as we had dinner late this summer after chatting back and forth on bear411 occasionally over the past several years. Since I lived in Cedar Hill, and he lived nearly 45 miles away in Plano, it just did not make sense to do more than be friendly online. Then there was that whole schedule thing. However, now we live about 10-15 minutes away from each other, so it just works better. Will is a year older than I am, an Aggie, has the biggest hands about that I have ever seen and he likes me. That works at this point for me. He has asked me to come to his house for dinner after Christmas as we both are WAY too tied up with things this coming week to do anything before I head off to parts east.

Anyway, there you have it - a pretty happy weekend...
