The Face of the Earth

No, I did not drop off of it.

It has been busy times for me. I can say other than the sick days I have had to take this winter (3 as opposed to the 10 I had to take last year by this time), I have had much of any down time. Work is going gangbusters. We have trained a new class of reps in our office which was repeated at every location in the first months of this year. They are all on phones now, but it has hardly made a dent in call volume. I only do two hours of phone a day and from the time I log the phone on it does not slow at all. Boom, boom, boom - it does not let up.

One positive though is that last month during our first quarter department meeting I was recognized for my excellence in online communication. It seems that I handle our Customer Service email function than better than anyone at our site, and better than most in the entire company. My response time and accuracy are outstanding, at least outstanding enough to be recognized as "Most Valuable" in online communications. The award (and resulting gift card) were a total surprise to me. I had no idea I was doing so well with our email functions.

I know one reason is that I have a pretty sharp mind when it comes to procedures. I am currently handling three main functions in our department: emails, product questions (this is actually my specialty area, more advanced product application questions) and phone time. I have a firm grasp on the details of working those functions which makes me a more valuable asset not only for my performance, but to mentor other reps. I have to say, as much grief as I have had with my company at times, this is an accomplishment I am proud of. It tells me that if I can excel in an environment where I have not always felt I or my contributions are valued, then I can excel at anything I put my mind to. I guess it is just good old Blue Ridge Mountain work ethic, if nothing else.

Now if that kind of success would dribble over a bit into my personal life. I have recently had a couple of dates with a couple of different guys. In addition, I have had interest from another couple of guys. I frankly am not in a place to really put the kind of concentration into dating as I think is needed for success, but I have to admit the attention level is nice. After the Richard fiasco this past fall, I am in no hurry. In essence, a potential suitor is going to have to woo me pretty hard to make me take much notice.

Wooing; I think it is about time I sit back and let someone else pursue rather than be the one on the hunt for awhile. Hell, with work and working out, I have hardly time for much else. This weekend I am working, so I am looking forward to next weekend and the TGRA rodeo in Fort Worth. I had sworn after IGRA finals last October I would never go to another one, but one of my best friends has decided to compete in several events and invited me to come watch. I am the kind of friend that will come show support, even if the activity I do not find the most appealing. If nothing else it will get me out of the house, and with the camera. I plan on taking lots of photos.

There really is so much more going on, but I am pooped! Bed here, and more later...
