Not the worst number in the world, but it is the highest morning blood glucose I have had in weeks. I have been doing really well since I came off insulin a little over a month ago, but this week I have not been exercising as much (just felt blah on Sunday-Tuesday). I did do 2000 meters in the pool yesterday with a glucose level before dinner at a good healthy 84. My dinner was a small sweet potato (high fiber should counteract the higher general glycemic index), pork loin chop, 1/2 cup snap peas and 1/2 cup cole slaw.

I am afraid I may have to start back on the Glemipiride at dinner again. It works well, but the reason I went off it was that I was having really scary low glucose episodes that would hit me in the middle of the night - 44 being the lowest. To illustrate: that is getting near Julia Roberts as Shelby in Steel Magnolias when she bottoms out at the beauty shop. I do not want to get back on that shit (my goal is to be off ALL meds), but I will if I must. I will watch better what I eat today and hopefully tomorrow I will be back to a good overnight level of under 100 in the morning.
