As ususal, it's been a long time since I've written again. I'll try to keep up a bit more now that I have internet at work and am therefore able to occasionally loaf off and post a nice journal entry.
Quick update stuff: work is going well, not much new to report. Still waiting to hear what is going on with the Quality assurance testing thing, am hoping to hear soon. May go and pester the Lead guy tomorrow about it. It's so weird to me to be inside all day though. I'm used to having jobs where it is required that I'm outside and luxuriating in the wonder that is allergies. But still, it is nicer to be outside. Clearly I need to go for more walks at lunch, but the problem is that I really already take a too long lunch as it is, and one cannot eat and walk within half an hour. Boo.
Neil is doing well--he was just up in Ottawa for his highschool's 30th anniversary. He is currently at his first day of work at his new job, which is working for a location support place for movies and TV. Hopefully that will go well for him, at least for awhile, until he figures out whatever it is that he wants to do or finds something better. Somehow I don't want to have to hear about what that kind of job is like in the winter, although by that time (and actually after 3 months) they've promised that he'll be trained to work in their office. So who knows, it may work out all good after all. The only thing I see that will suck is the lack of regular hours, long shifts and the never knowing when you will finish work, or when you will start until the night before. BOO. I hated that when he worked at TSN, and when he worked for Take One, and I believe I will be hating it again before long. It's gonna suck more so I think because of the fact that I have INCREDIBLY regular hours all of the time. That's one thing I really like about my job. I've never had a job where I had regular hours before.
I had a nice weekend, with a bunch of time to myself which doesn't really seem to happen much anymore, although usually I do prefer it that way. I finally saw Katie on Friday night, and we caught up. I miss having her as a roomie....we get along so well. Saturday I did a bunch of work in the garden, weeding and putting down topsoil etc. I am finally seeing a bit of progress with the front garden at least, which feels good. Met up with Coralee in the afternoon, and we wandered the Danforth, and got free comics for Free Comic book day, and had the tastiest pizza in the world at Magic Oven Pizza. I'm glad I finally went, since I've had a magnet of their's on my fridge for like 2 years. Also had other tasty food, and then went over to the Cumberland theatres near my work to see Art School Confidential. We were a little skeptical before it started, and a little worried that we would fall asleep after our 4 hours or so of walking, but it ended up being incredibly amusing and interesting, and of course therefore kept us awake. YAY!John Malkovich rules! I had a lovely sleep after all the walking too:)
Sunday was more working in the garden (Back one this time)...slowly it is looking better, but there is so much random junk out there. Old sofa bed part, broken stone pedestal, old wooden barrel/planter. My mom told me I should just bury it. I told her if she would like to come and dig up the concrete and make that happen, that she's more than welcome. AH mom. Ah backyards with actual dirt in them.
BTW mom and dad are doing well too...my dad went to this Labour-related dinner (read: unions) the other week, and an old acquaintance of his may be able to get him in to teaching a Workman's compensation course at Sir Sanford. He is over the moon, as he used to do some teaching in labour related issues, and has always wanted to get the chance to do it again. Plus he would, I assume, get a nicer paycheque than he has been used to. Especially since the Academy of Learning where he was working has had to close for 4 months to get this private school certification thing.
Neil then came home fairly late last night, and although I had a good weekend, it was nice to see him again. Funny how you get used to people being around after awhile. We had our 3 yr anniversary at the end of April, and it was weird to think that we've been together that long. Seems like just the other day......(sappppppiness omitted) Anyhow, he is my boy.
OOH--and in exciting electronic news, I bought a 20GB mp3 player on Ebay. Whee! Thank you tax return! Looking forward to much music playage. It is supposed to get here tomorrow or maybe the next day--rejoice!
Ok. dinner and more Buffy watching time. Season 2 is so already 3 days late going back to the library. Evil library could let me keep it for more than one week!
