Deborah Tannen said, "Saying that men talk about baseball in order to avoid talking about their feelings is the same as saying that women talk about their feelings in order to avoid talking about baseball."

This is from Writer's Almanac for today.

Is this why I talk about my feelings more than most men? I'm not into baseball? Would I be less empathic if I were? Would it help? Does it matter?

Banged metal with Molly yesterday and, yes, sparks flew.

Didn't accomplish much but needed the work out. Back feels better and I think I'll go back out again later.

Did figure out some cool things. Worked a blade for awhile from coil spring. Usually whatever the alloy is in coil springs is pretty stiff even at an orange heat and takes a lot of muscle. Tried to keep it into the yellow range and while it wasn't "like buddah" it was peanut butter out of the fridge and that's not bad. Still some muscle. Three hours of work got a rough shape and most of the tang. I'll draw it down to shape today and work on some smaller ones. Got some nice wood and some antler for horns.

Apparently today is the graduation of Nate, Skye's eldest. I will probably go. High school graduation ... wow.
