Sorry -- the $1 per comment donation post has ended
I reached my limit on Saturday night. Today, I went to my local Whole Foods and made the donation, which Whole Foods said they would match dollar for dollar.
I'm very glad that I decided to follow the example of other LJ'ers in doing this kind of post. It encouraged me to dig deeper and give more, to not procrastinate, and it allowed others to contribute in their own way.
I feel bad that some folks have not read my edit to the donation post and are still commenting in hopes of taking part, so I have decided to lock that post for now.
Thank you for this experiment in community action. It was touching and inspiring.
EDIT: The original post was made by shadbolt75, and he is still adding links to the LJ's of those who have followed suit. One of those folks is italianchick589. At the time of this writing, it seems that she has not yet reached her limit. :)
