What do you think 'the One itself' that Zizek is refering to here is?
‘The key problem here is that the basic “law” of dialectical materialism, the struggle of opposites, was colonized/obfuscated by the New Age notion of the polarity of opposites (yin-yang, and so on). The first critical move is to replace the topic of this polarity of opposites with the concept of the inherent “tension,” gap, non-coincidence, of the One itself.’
I'm interested in what Zizek says here in relation to that idea that environmental thinking is an attempt at something that is 'outside' capitalism.
But what is the One? I was obsessed when I was writing my utopia essay with the idea of a "tension" or gap, but can't remember the context now.
With things like this I always feel like I am grasping at insignificant straws.
