[ so, he and souji had somehow managed to get their hands on an apartment in the middle district, after hours upon hours of searching through listings for a suitable place to live, at least for the time being. it was better than the hotel, and surprisingly, they'd each had enough saved up in the bank such that they were able to afford a place once they'd put it together. it wouldn't last them for long without jobs, but he didn't expect to be staying here for too long, anyway.

they'd met up with the landlord, with souji handling most of the little details. they were supposed to have a roommate who was moving in along with them, but it was highly unlikely that it was someone they knew. hopefully, they would be a regular person who they would be able to get along well enough with -- or maybe even a hot babe, if they got lucky. in any case, he doubts that they'd need to worry -- there was no way their new roommate would be a mass murderer or anythign crazy like that.

he's coming in ahead of souji, who had lagged behind him saying that he'd had some errands to finish. after checking that he had the right room number, he sticks his key in the lock, rattling it to get it open. it takes him a few tries, but he finally manages to get the damned thing to unlock, and he opens the door. hey, it smells like something good's cooking in the kitchen-- ]

[ it sure is funny when neither side is expecting a nasty surprise, right? hahaha...ha...

the person he sees coming through the door is about the last person he'd ever wanted to see again in his life - or one of them, at least. there's several.

...stare. ]

[ ...well. he hopes this isn't what it looks like. he'd rather this kid barge into his house to harass him temporarily than be moving in to harass him permanently. adachi's sure that can't be the case, though, kids can't afford apartments. ]

What the hell do you think you're doing, Hanamura? Get out!

[ don't make him grab one of the knives in the kitchen. ]

[ yeah, it's fucking hilarious. he's shocked into silence for a split second, before his face quickly turns into a scowl. he didn't like that adachi was running around in the city, but he could accept it. to be confronted with him in person was a completely other case. ]

Oh, what the hell?! What're you doing in our apartment?!

[ yes, our. a.k.a. him and souji. get the fuck out, adachi ]

[ well >:V to you too, adachi ]

Lease papers-- Look, this apartment belongs to me and Souji, alright? I don't know how the hell you managed to get in, but we've got a roommate that's moving in in a few days and-- [ pause ] Oh, there is no way.

[ :'DDDDD fml ]

You must have the wrong place. Shouldn't you guys be living in something a little...cheaper? I mean, this isn't the nicest place, but...

Ahahaha. A Junes bagboy's salary doesn't pay rent.

[ fml doesn't even begin to describe the emotions he's feeling right about now ]

I just picked up the keys from the landlord this morning. Wanna see our papers?

Yeah, actually. I do. Show 'em to me.

[ he's trying very hard to convince himself this is an awful, awful dream. ]

[ he stops for a moment and rummages through his messenger bag, pulling out a folder containing a bunch of papers. then he steps over to adachi and holds it out to him, crossing his arms when it's taken from him. ]

How's that? Good enough for you?

[ he stares at the lease. it looks just like his. the signature at the bottom is the same. the address is the same as his. impending doom becomes ever visible in his facial expression as he tries to wake up from this nightmare. ]

Well. [ he rubs his forehead, thinking for a moment, then reaches into his pocket and feels around for a moment, wincing. ] How much cash do you kids want to get the hell out of here?

That depends. Wanna find us a new place to live while you're at it?

[ he doesn't want to budge at all. hey, he likes this place, and it would be much more fair to kick adachi out than him and souji. adachi was a self-sufficient adult, and they were still in high school ]

[ no, adachi was here first, so you guys should have to leave. ]

Not really. There's plenty of places for rent around here, I'm sure you guys can find something. [ he draws a couple of bills out of a wad of money and holds them out to yosuke. ] 10,000 yen.

junesbitch November 13 2009, 05:33:25 UTC
[ yeah, whatever. yosuke could just point the finger at him and call him a child molester, that would get him moved out pretty fast. ]

Oh, are you serious?! There's no way you're bribing me with 10,000 yen -- you can't even buy food for a week with that amount of cash!

[ because food is expensive, okay. not because he eats a lot. ]

[ oh, does yosuke really wanna be known as the kid who got badtouched by adachi? well, if that's the rep he wants... :\\\\ ]

Ha, what're you talking about, how much do you eat in a week, kid?

[ he pauses for a moment, then waves a hand dismissively. ]

Never mind. The point is, I have a six-month lease on this place and no spare money to be throwing a six-month lease out the window. So whether you want me here or not, I'm staying.
