I was looking up the reviews for Spider-man 3 when I discovered that the board game
Catan is coming out for the 360. And they just released a really keen looking
pinball simulator. I'm definitely going to have to download that one. That's on top of all the classic arcade games already available on Xbox Live. And it turns out the 360 will be getting
Katamari after all.
I'm beginning to think that the simple games with extra eye-candy and online play may ultimately be the killer app for the 360.
Oh, Spider-man 3 is great. Best movie-tie-in game ever. It's a lot like Test Drive Unlimited, in that the real star of the show isn't the characters, it's the setting. Test Drive had Hawaii, Spiderman has New York, New York. It's virtual tourism, and you don't even get ripped off by taxi drivers, because you can just swing from place to place. It gave me a little shiver to be zipping along and suddenly go, "Oh hey, that's the Metropolitan Opera!" By the time I actually visit New York, I'll know my way around pretty well.
