I need to update more often

Hi everyone! :)

It's been almost 2 weeks since my last update. Life has been busy. I came home Tuesday evening for the hurricane and will be leaving out tomorrow- more on why later though. I have a lot of updating to do here.

Hurricane Ivan spared us greatly- Thank God! If it would have been as bad as they predicted, I'd hate to go back to the lake to see our camp! Our house survived Betsy back in the 60s (our house is over 50 years old- BTW!) so we felt safe here and decided not to evacuate like most did. My grandparents, who live next door in a trailer, came stay the night with us as they were terrified of staying in the trailer during the storm. Thankfully though, we only got a few strong winds, not bad at all! PRAISE GOD! :)

Let's see.....this month has been a very memorable one as we've had several 'anniversaries' to celebrate or in some cases simply remember. It made 3 years on the 4th of this month that I got my mustang- time sure does fly! I remember it was like my 2nd week of my 1st semester of college. My grandma was down for a few weeks and her and my parents went riding to Houma for something that day. Since I didn't have my license yet, I had to be brought to and from college each day during my 1st semester when I didn't carpool. But I remember my parents and grandma coming to Nicholls that afternoon to pick me up. I was waiting for them in front of the library, where I usually waited. They show up in a white mustang and I am thinking to myself, 'What the world?' I got in the front with dad and he tells me its MINE! I didn't know whether to like it or not at first. I was weary about it beings it wasn't the type of mustang I wanted. I wanted a 2001 cherry red Ford Mustang CONVERTIBLE GT and that wasn't it. What I got was a 1997 white Ford Mustang SRS. Not red nor was it a convertible. I liked it but wished I would have gotten the one I really wanted one- can I say ungrateful? Yeah, I was at first then the car started to grow on me. Now I LOVE it! It's SO ME! I wasn't crazy about it being white because it shows everything, but white is one of my favorite colors and the color I wear the most, so my car and I match to a 't'! I LOVE it! It's ran great since I got it (except for the battery dying a few weeks ago and we had to get a new one- but that was the battery that came with the car when it was first made over 7 years ago!). Hopefully I'll have AT LEAST another 3 years in it! Then I'll get the 4Runner I've been wanting in another year or two and keep the mustang for joy riding (its PAID FOR since the day dad bought it!).

Another significant date to remember this month for my family was September 5th. That was the day my family moved into this house- TEN years ago! This is the longest we've lived anywhere so that's definitely something to celebrate! :) This was my grandparents home before ours (we switched homes) and also the home my mom grew up in. It holds a lot of memories -that's for sure!

This past Monday made a year that my beloved boston terrier Max passed away. He died of heartworms- poor baby! :( We miss him so much! He passed shortly after his 3rd birthday! I wish he were still with us today. It would be so neat to see him, Tonka, and Jake playing together! They'd be a handful - I'm sure! :) I'll try to get a picture of Max to post on here so you all can see. He's SO precious! :)

My two boys (Tonka and Jake) are doing well! Tonka is becoming so strong and muscular and Jake is getting big! He's younger than Tonka by 6 months and is now the same height as Tonka! Still has that little baby face though- LOL! Tonka is on Ivomec for 30 more days as he got a negative skin scrape at the last vet visit. He's doing well taking his medicine by syringe and we've finally found a way to get him to swallow his antibiotic! YAY! No more fussing! :) Now the only problem we have with him (and with Jake as he's a follower) is when they are lose in the yard, they take off to the neighbor's in the next street. Well, Tonka does and Jake follows. UGH! We're trying to teach them to stay in the yard- may have to get invisible fencing to teach them to stay in the yard! I like letting them run around in the yard, but not if they are going to roam the neighborhood. I don't go for that!

Anyway! I am going to close for now. I'm going walk to the lot, a piece of property my dad owns on the other side of my grandparent's trailer. My brother is going to build a house there, a 2 bedroom 1 story home. I'm thinking of moving in with him there. The boys (Tonka and Jake) will be staying there whenever my brother's home gets built (probably won't be until Spring or summer)- I guess when we get our female Lexi, she will be staying there also in a huge fenced in yard. We'll probably housebreak them and let them stay indoors as well - something my mom doesn't allow as she doesn't like dogs inside because of her allergies and finiky ways about cleanliness.

Well, I'm going to close for now. I'll try to update again later on today. I have still yet to tell you about our new 'home' and also about our move. Oh, and the latest about Coby! So stay tuned! :)
