Hi all! It's been a long time since I've taken the time to update, but I'm back! I have been super busy for the last month, but I wanted to let all my LJ friends know that I am alive and doing well.
We went to TN for a week vacation the last week of June. My cousin Randy got married. The wedding was gorgeous and I wish Randy and Heather the best that God has to offer! They make such a cute couple! The trip was nice as well. Was good to see family again that I only see but once a year. While in TN, we went to BakersForge Cemetary where dad's dad is buried at along with other relatives. That is the cemetary where my grandma (dad's mom) will be buried along with dad's siblings and their families. We talked about it too and my family will now be buried there- we purchased 6 lots which means there are 3 extra because dad already had a lot there. I know this all sounds a bit morbid, but hey, if anything happens I have a place to be buried now and so does my familY! Before this- we didn't. They aren't that cheap either as we spent a few thousand on our lots. They are right alongside my grandpa (dad's dad) lots and they were the only lots left near there. So its cool that dad will be buried with both his families side by side. The cemetary is on top of a huge mountain and the scenery is BREATHTAKING- such a GORGEOUS place! Enough about death though..
My grandma came home with us to spend the month of July. That turned out to be the most unpleasant visit ever and I'm glad she went back home. More on that later on though.
I have a praise report! My dad went for a bone scan and other tests recently and got the results in last Monday. We found out that his PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) count which was previously at a 36 when first diagnosed, is now at a....get this...0.2!!! It means that he is in REMISSION and the cancer is nearly GONE! Praise the Lord! Hallujuhah! We are all excited and thanking God for the AWESOME news! Thanks all that have been praying- we so appreciate all prayers. Prayer works! Just thought I'd share the great testimony with you all!
I received a text on my cell yesterday from an old friend. It was great to hear from him but he said something in his text that has been on my mind. Why the confusion and complication all of a sudden? My life was going GREAT finally!
I spent yesterday with a really good looking guy- his name is Coby. He is my dad's friend's grandson. He's going to be 21 in October. My dad is going to be building Coby and his mom Lizzie a house for the next 8 weeks. It was fun meeting Coby. Dad thought he was gay when Coby came down here last week and went fishing with them at our camp (I was taking a shower when Coby dropped by the house last week). But I really doubt that he is. He is a stylish dresser and likes to be a 'pretty' boy, but I don't think that makes him gay. If he is, I converted him, LOL! He was definitely eyeballing me! He's so bashful though, like me, so he rarely talked to me. When we were introduced, he sat by me and shook my hand. He's really tall and boy, do I have to look UP! He seems really sweet, but again he's so bashful. Good thing Lizzie (his mom-she's only 36) is outgoing. We were going ride out to their land to see where the house will be built and Lizzie came up to me asking if I wanted to ride with Coby. I would have loved to go, but I was too shy! When we were first introduced, Lizzie was like how old are you? I said 21. She was like, Desire' this is Coby and Coby this is Desire'. The lady is nuts- literally. She has a disease that affects her equilibrium in her brain and it throws her off balance. Anyway! Enough about Coby (for now..). This could be promising- we'll see!
I have started a new goal- to read the Bible in one year. Like mstammylynn, I too will be using this as a means of documenting my progress towards my goal. I read 2 daily readings but will start fresh tomorrow from the beginning. I will read 2 chapters of the Old Testament, 1 chapter of the New Testament, and 1 Psalms or Proverbs each day.
Well,I have to go for now! Talk later!
