This may not help you much, but here is what worked for me over time (the key word obviously is time).

When I went into the military back in 1982 my stepbrothers ransacked my room. In my absense they robbed, sold, broke, and destroyed just about everything that was special to me. We lived in a very abusive household which is why I got out.

Anyways...

In the last 10 years, I made a list of things that I could remember that were lost. The G.I. Joes I replaced through Ebay. Yep, I had original 1964 Joe's, 70's Adventure Team Joes and even the Kung Fu grip Joe. Found em all there on ebay cheap. Same with all the Hardcover books I read as a teen. My photos and stuff I replaced through family memebers who luckily had most of what I had lost in their own collections.
No, I didn't replace it all, but about 90%. You're stuff is different than mine although I think most toys can be found on Ebay (both vintage and new).

Memories are just that... memories. To anyone else they mean just about nothing... to each of us who have them they mean a LOT! So long as you have them in your head they are never truly lost. Periodically, keep checking the Salvation Army. You'd be surprised how luck can factor in for you. You may never get total satisfaction in your quest, but trying helps make you feel better.

Above all, it was your stuff, and you will always miss it.
Replaced or not.. I still do.

*hugs* from someone you don't know all that well.
