Plan for tomorrow, pencil holder

Attempting to hit the "reset" button on the condition of my house - too many various projects have been started and not completed or not cleaned up after. There are Christmas storage boxes to put back into the attic, and sewing stuff that seems to have exploded everywhere, and laundry to deal with, and presents to wrap.

One of Red's friends had a birthday party today. For her present, she got a spiral-bound sketch book, a box of 50 colored pencils, and a cloth pencil pouch that I made from various bright scraps. It turned out really nicely, and I think I'll do something like it again. The basic design is a bit like the holders for artists' brushes, with a little pocket for each pencil to fit into, and a flap that folds down to cover them before the whole thing folds in half. I put a set of fluorescent pencils and three regular pencils in it. I found out at the party that her dad works in graphic design, so maybe she'll have some instruction (or at least encouragement) in using them.
