Then distract them with convoluted sentence structure, scraps of Latin, and humorous side-tracking. [off her look] What? It's always worked for me.
LOL.
KISS, MY PRETTIES! Come on, I know you want to.
Well, we KNOW they've done that. We've got it on videotape! *begs*
Jack: Etcetera, etcetera, ad nauseum. We know all that. Everyone and their distant cousin of their aunt's nephew twice removed is writing it. Naturally you just want in on the fun, and who's to argue? But will you stop faffing about and get to it already?
And there he goes, case in point.
"The One in Which The Curse Gets Lifted" sounds great too! I love Will going on strike... he'd probably go on strike from my fics, too.
All the characters hate me right now. They're tired of angst and have told me in no uncertain terms that they like you and [info]artaxastra better.
Oh, they do not hate you! And I don't think I belong in the same sentence as Artie, quite, especially not after her latest stuff! Good Lord. She's made me like AWE. Needed her good fic so much.
Ha! I love it! Vastly entertaining, though I'm afraid it won't let you off the hook for writing fic. ;) Let's see...
Erinya: Have you met this fandom? These people know their classics. And their dead pirates. They'll know. Jack: Then distract them with convoluted sentence structure, scraps of Latin, and humorous side-tracking. [off her look] What? It's always worked for me.
I've gotta admit, Jack's way will work with me, though I'm working on the classics thing...
Re: A Little Knowledge... well, looks like they're trying to jack you with their Real Lives, but... let's get creative... maybe Keira's so emphatic about Rupert and Johnny's about to marry Vanessa because they feel guilty about getting it on with each other? Maybe?
Elizabeth: Jack has a point. Don't make me wait ten years like those other writers whose initials are T and T.*doesn't think Elizabeth waited ten years anyway. It's not in her nature, which TnT ALSO wrote. :-D Just 'cause she was there to meet him doesn't mean she didn't do anybody in the meantime
( ... )
Actually, doing this meme kind of helped kick free some inspiration on a couple of these.
I had a feeling it might, what with the characters talking to you and all. ;-) As long as they're talking to you, there's hope for the story! (or stories, in this case - btw, loved your Johnny voice)
I was actually thinking about ALK today on the drive to the hotel from Yosemite (wtf am I doing thinking about fic after seeing Yosemite? Darned if I know. And the fic's not even mine!), just considering the lack of direct J/E interaction in AWE and their alternate awkward/intimate vibes throughout the film - could work well with the previously mentioned situation in ALK. Just a thought... if it helps, then it's good! :-)
Jack: Oh, for the love of-- Just fake it, love. I promise you, no one will know. Erinya: Have you met this fandom? These people know their classics. And their dead pirates. They'll know. Jack: Then distract them with convoluted sentence structure, scraps of Latin, and humorous side-tracking. [off her look] What? It's always worked for me.
This fandom's pretty sharp, it's true. And this is one of the stories I've been waiting for. PLEEEEESE?
Johnny: [from his personal cloud of smoke] Sorry, no. And just to really throw you for a loop, I'm finally marrying Vanessa this summer.
Don't you find Jack playing Johnny sometimes a bit weird? I mean, no weirder than the reverse, I suppose....
Will: No kidding. This one is a bit Grimm.
Oh that's good! I want to visit your Green Room!
Elizabeth: YES PLEASE. I mean, I guess that's all right
( ... )
Hee! I'm glad this made you laugh! It amused me, too.
I think the main problem with the Underworld story is that I have to deal directly with metaphysical law in the last part in order to finish it up the way I planned, rather than just riffing on the mythology. Further complicated by the fact that Persephone rather wants to keep Jack around.
Don't you find Jack playing Johnny sometimes a bit weird?
Yep. Which is more and more what the ALK stories are about, crazy UST aside.
I want to visit your Green Room!
It is fun to play with them in meta-space, especially when I'm blocked on actual fic. And yeah, the post-AWE Green Room is an interesting place. Although it gets awfully snarky in there....

Funny, that. Even when Jack's not being cooperative in-story, he still doesn't shut up.

Poor Jack. I didn't even have the decency to leave him in Fiddler's Green.

Darn it. But it's way more fun.

Something along those lines had occurred to me... *plots* Actually, doing this meme kind of helped kick free some inspiration on a couple of these.
