Chaper XXIII: In Which I Buy Myself a Birthday Present of Some Magnitude
As many of you know, I have been looking into single living options (ie one bedroom), though I have been rather cagey about the EXACT one bedrooms I've been considering until things were settled. Well, today is the day for full disclosure: I'm buying a condo! AAAHHHHHH! I've been plotting and looking and haggling and whatnot for about a month now, and today the seller and I (through realtors) came to an agreement. Assuming the inspection doesn't reveal any horrid surprises, I'll be closing on April 18th! Here are some pics:
It's SO CUTE, and quite large for a one bedroom (which is good, because I'll DEFINITELY be entertaining :) ), and it's EXACTLY where I want to be in terms of location. And the move will be easy, as it's only two and half blocks from my apartment, so I can space it out over a month (my lease is up June 1). That will give me time to do a little updating too--my friend Ebob is going to help me strip the wallpaper and repaint the hall/dining room, and I'll probably put in a washer/dryer. Beyond that, VINTAGE CLASSINESS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! And I can finally have my vinyl with me, playing softly in the background whilst I gaze out my picture window, sipping tea and munching on artfully cut marmalade toast triangles...for some reason, my new home fantasies always involve marmalade...
WOOO!!!! Happy birthday to me! And happy thoughts to Great Uncle Ray in heaven, without whose generosity I couldn't have done this. And to my boss, who is AWESOME, and has been helping me with this stuff and connecting me with the right people. Yay for workplace friendship! :) And friendship generally!!! Marmalade toast for everyone! :) :) :)
