Finally warm enough to shed the parka, and it's about damn time!
Friday had a lovely evening out with MissMJ--felt very snazzy sipping pomegranate martinis, watching the mist swirling round the glistening city streets without...a lovely urban moment, only partially detracted from by the incongruous basketball game in the background (luckily the volume was low).
Today I went to volunteer orientation at the Old Town School of Music, so soon I will get to volunteer to help with concerts and whatnot, whereat I can meet fun new friends AND accumulate points for redemption in the form of free classes and concert tickets. Exciting!
Also took Gladys out for a spin, our first ride of the Spring. I've taken her out a few times during the winter, but winter rides are substantially less joyous, so they don't count. Today was glorious, the kind of ride that makes you feel ecstatically happy to exist. Plus I got my rusted back brake cable replaced, so I guess she's had her Spring tuneup. Get ready cyclists--our first ride as a gang will be soon! Remember: We are THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE WHEEL, and we are BADASSES. Badasses who take jaunty rides around the lake and have delightful picnics. We're talking HARDCORE here.
Tonight the roommates and friends and I are going out for birthday revelry/debauchery, and are pleased to have discovered some bar off Paulina with free drinks between 10 and 11. Don't know anything about it, but I'm sure it will seem plenty fun after we down a few freebies!
Tomorrow going out for lunch with my friend Meg, in town this week, conveniently round my birthday--going to try a snazzy fusion place (Yoshi's Cafe), which I saw walking around last night and happen to have a chicago public radio benefit for, yay!
Monday is my birthday, and I shall celebrate with DDR and tasties with Pam, huzzah! Onwards and upwards!
