SEPTA announced today that they have accepted $3.4 million dollars to rename the southern terminus of the Broad Street Subway "AT&T Station," from the original (and geographically relevant) Pattison Station. Tonight I discovered that the 13th Street station has token machines that accept coins, but no change machine. Broad Street, on the other hand, has a change machine, but token machines that don't accept coins.

Even for you, that's pretty silly.

Loud cellphone conversation I've unfortunately become accustomed to. Gum smacking, snorting when you laugh and telling off-colour jokes should be grounds for summary defenestration, though.

I'd pretty much decided to stop riding my bike in the city after that little incident a few years ago, but with the transit strike on I don't have much choice now. I'm actually kinda glad, though. I may just be a bit wiser for my mistakes, but a trip to and from Temple today went pretty well. Just have to remember to not rush and plan my routes ( Read more... )

Things keep up like this, I'm going to need a special icon just for SEPTA. I took the train home from my sister's place this evening, and we got held up for a good 25 minutes at the station. Cause? A man was hanging in the undercarriage of the train and wouldn't let go. It took that long for police to arrive and "convince" him to get off. I'd ( Read more... )
