a spotlight on my writing drama...

So, y'all might recall me mentioning this new since-Halloween weekend obsession with Bollywood films, etc? Maybe? Pretty sure I might have mentioned it once or twice. XD

In mid-November, I plotted a scene while sitting in traffic and had about half a NaNo 'written' by the end of the day. Long story short: it's about a pastry chef in Chicago and his wife and now spans about 15 years and I've physically written NOTHING.

It's Tin Girl all over again. /facepalm

Anyway....

The first problem came with the fact that I'd plotted quite a bit before I saw Chennai Express, in which the main character (played by SRK) is a confectioner. (Haven't quite figured out what exactly he was making because the scene of him at work wasn't clear, and it was more of a punchline than anything else..) But, I decided that I had already started this plot before, AND the plots are completely different and I actually LIKE the story I was telling myself, so I decided to handwave and press on.

(Why is this detail important, you ask? Well, because the brain cast most of the characters as actors who I've seen in the various films -because that's how I roll- and SRK is living in my head rent-free.

I'm okay with this.

As this project continued to plot itself (usually as I was trying to fall asleep at night), it expanded into some bad fanfic writing territory (ie it brought in an actor playing a version of himself ala Wil Wheaton on The Big Bang Theory and, of course, the main characters became friends with him because IT'S FANFIC) and I do not care. It's a hilarious side-plot and I love it.

((Real talk: My real world-headspace isn't great and I am reveling in anything Steve will give me, as an escape from the drama and bleh, so I digress.......))

This morning, thanks to a random Instagram post, I learned that the actor in question is actually married to an actress who I legit did not know he was married to. On one hand, my mind is well and truly BLOWN; and on the other, I now have to rethink a good month's worth of plot

Point A: This revelation makes one scene SO MUCH FUNNIER.

Point B: I now have to rethink an entire side-plot, because the actress I had Wil Wheaton-cast as his wife in the movie he's making is his real wife's cousin. NOW..... everything I've written about this in-verse movie plot has been behind the scenes stuff - I spent three+ hours plotting a special features interview for the DVD. SEND HELP. - so technically, I can stick with the original plan (because the scenes I've plotted with her are just ♥ because I love her to death) and just pretend it's not weird.

It's not like anyone will ever read this, anyway.

The story, I mean. Not this post. I say, assuming anyone is actually still reading this crap LMAO

Anyway.... so I'm now living in this whole new world where suddenly about five old Instagram posts make SO MUCH MORE SENSE and in shock and disgust at my continued failure of research. I guess I've just gotten past the Internet stalking of celebrities-phase because, yeah..

MIND. BLOWN.

The other problem I have is that I can already see that while plotted, this 15-year span story could probably hit NaNo twice. But, in the vein of that graphic of the 'in my head' squiggly lines:

So, yeah. That's my morning.

How you doin'? ♥

[EDIT: Upon the re-read for punctuation fails, I realize I clearly have more than two hands LOL]
[EDIT 2: I had to edit the post. The beta in me couldn't stand for that shit to stay. LOL]
