Dad finally heard back from his pal up in Wisconsin. He'll be going up on Friday for the annual sales meeting for a company he doesn't even work for and returning Monday-ish. So we've made tentative plans to see the not-a-Bourne!movie next weekend.
The book thingy wasn't too bad last night. Traffic, however, was. A Caddy tried to run me off the road, which was awesome; I missed the turn to the school because I was watching for the sign that was actually on the next road down; and my Mom - the same one who always tells me that the "writing thing" is stupid and a waste of time - called me out in front of the ENTIRE cafeteria about how my friends and I write stories all the time, about all kinds of things, short stories and chapter stories, and how it helps creativity to imagine.
O.O
Exsqueeze me? Baking powder?
Anyway, I ended up sitting with one family - the one boy was trying to convince me that his brother was his son - and gluesticking foam pieces for his other brother. It wasn't too bad, really. The kid was more interested in picking random foam pieces to glue down than the story in his book.
I wish I had taken a photo of his one page. We made a man - the foam hands were glued in a "jazz hands"-fashion, because he wasn't paying attention and I could. - and he had a red heart. Said his man needed a heart. ♥
The lady running the thing didn't have any extra kits, of course *coughNOT* but Mom says she can "find me a collection of foam pieces". aka she has the key to the closet where the extra books were put. I'm so "writing" an abridged Tin Man.
Siriusly.
In regards to
THIS meme from yesterday, I still owe answers to
nadeshiko1 and
nawag1r, as well as a crack!request from
gatechic.
I'm open to any other requests, as well as stealing from Bad Horse and throwing out crack!ships and crossover!ships. Just realize that some of them might not be taken seriously. and I will send Gibbs after anyone who prompts crack!fic
Can I just say that - while ALL seriousness kinda went out the window - the discussion of Raw/Zero OTP was the best thing of all day yesterday. ♥
Less than a week for Round 9 over at
tm_challenge. I need to get on the ball with updating the team comms.
gatechic, I think I might switch the "mod" comm. FYI from me to you. And I need to ask
midnight_burn to make a few more icons, because she's got mad skills! ♥
In non-Tin Man news: I have ZERO interest in Disney's new Alice in Wonderland. True story. I mean, I'll see it. Eventually. But I won't lose any sleep before then. Least not because of Alice...
HOWEVER: Almost Alice is the coolest CD ever. Okay, maybe not ever... but it's pretty damn EPIC!
*sigh*
All right... to work. *finger twirl*
EDIT:
nadeshiko1 asked for Mac/Stella
1. When I started shipping them Um.... some time in the first few episodes. It's been so long, I can't actually remember. :(
2. What I think their challenge is They're too comfortable as best friends - they aren't seeing it.
3. What makes me happy about them They can read each other perfectly; they have snark; Stella keeps Mac in reality and on his toes
4. What makes me sad about them It'll never happen.
5. What moment I wish had never happened Peyton
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other I like Stella and Flack. But I'd rather he was with Jess. Mac is better off by himself. OR WITH STELLA.
7. My happily ever after for them Asleep on the couch, movie playing on the TV and a fade to black. Wait.. I beta'd that fic... ;)
nadeshiko1 also asked for Harry/Hermione
1. When I started shipping them Somewhere in the first book, had an inkling that's what JKR was aiming for.
2. What I think their challenge is BAD WRITING.
3. What makes me happy about them They balance each other. Harry knows nothing about the Wizarding World, and she knows it all; They both need someone to talk to who understands the Muggle world, too. And they just work well together.
4. What makes me sad about them BAD WRITING.
5. What moment I wish had never happened Chest monsters
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other Harry and Luna; Hermione and Draco. What?
7. My happily ever after for them Does it really matter? o.O
nawag1r asked for Wyatt/Adora
1. When I started shipping them Truth: I was filling out my
tinman_stamps application. I mean, I was all for past!ships... but I'd never really thought about it. since, y'know, she was dead
2. What I think their challenge is Well, she's dead...
3. What makes me happy about them There is no word in existence to cap PERFECTION. Of course, this is based entirely on the Wyatts and Adoras in my head. Yes, there are multiple versions. And every Faith Hill and Richard Marx song just WORKS for them.
4. What makes me sad about them *points* She's dead.
5. What moment I wish had never happened Cain turning around to find the grave.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other Well, I'm a Cain/DG shipper, sooo... DeMilo.
7. My happily ever after for them Zero lied to Jeb, too. She's not in the grave. *snuggles three different WiPs tight*
gatechic asked for Garrett/Rebecca
1. When I started shipping them About the second the "casting" was announced. *shrug* I'm that easy.
2. What I think their challenge is THEY AREN'T REAL. Pretend that's sparkly.
3. What makes me happy about them They have no shame. They are kids who refused to grow up. Mostly.
4. What makes me sad about them They were seperated. And Riley. And they aren't real.
5. What moment I wish had never happened I'd say Zero shooting Garrett in the back at the beginning, but it was kinda necessary for the plot.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other
7. My happily ever after for them Long as someone gives me a reunion scene, I'm good.
