argh....
I have gained 40 + pounds.
Went in for non-stress test on Friday and they didn't like what they saw (from me, baby girls looked fine, thank goodness, but I was contracting every 3 mins.). so they made me stay on the monitor, pee in a cup, have a lovely internal exam, you know the drill.
They thought I might have been in pre-term labor. I was starting to get excited that the end of this hell was in sight!
But nope, surprisingly my body is tolerating all the contractions "quite well," and I just need to make more of an effort to take it easy. Oh and take more of that medication that totally knocks me on my ass. So I spend my days pretty doped up now, too.
I will be 33 weeks on Tuesday. Doctor said if I go into labor anytime after 34 weeks, they won't go to great lengths to stop me. He also doesn't expect me to go much beyond 36 weeks by the time all is said and done. I hope he's right. I have a feeling he is right. I just don't think my body can take much more of this. All the weight I have gained is still sticking straight out in front of me. Wish I had the capability to post a pic, but I don't...

This was the first Thanksgiving I wasn't with my family. Odd. They were very kindly invited to my sister-in-law's family's house...seeing as no one in my family has a kitchen to cook in, much less a table big enough for everyone to eat at together!!! I called and talked to everyone on the phone after they had dinner. I definitely missed being with them, but truth be told I'm not in any shape to be doing much of anything these days and would just as soon have spent the day bonding with a large pizza on the couch.
Oh, and my mother-in-law has decided that the babies look just like her. And apparently all of her friends agree!!! I was NOT happy to hear this, and even less happy when she began insisting we name one of the girls after her mother (whom I loved dearly, but whose name I didn't particularly care for). It's been hard, but I guess it's good practice for once the girls actually arrive----and then more of her true colors will show themselves!!! Oy vey!!!!
