We went to Lynden over the weekend for the raspberry festival. Saturday started early with Andrea and I leaving the apartment around 7:00am so that we would be able to stop by for the raspberry pancake breakfast (which, was very good). The festival was a lot smaller than we thought it was going to be. The 3 on 3 basketball tournament seemed to be the big draw. We walked around the downtown, poked around some of the cute shops, took a tour of the local winery, and then decided to drive to Canada.
Roomie: I think we are only a couple of miles from the border.
Me: Really? I have never been to Canada.
Roomie: Want to do some “international travel”?
Roomie: Ok.
Therefore, we got out our passports and headed 5 miles to Canada. We had hoped to make it to Vancouver and then turn around but we hit traffic in New Westminster. In total, our “international travel” lasted an hour and a half. The main reason for the trip was we needed to spend a couple of hours doing something while we waited for one of our friends to get back to Bellingham (he was in Seattle at a soccer game).

Back in Washington
My friend got back to Bellingham around 6:30 and we went out to dinner at a sushi restaurant and after that we just chilled in his apartment. The next day we took a walk around BellinghamBay and got a tour of WesternWashingtonUniversity. We left Bellingham around 12:30 and then took Highway 11 (a scenic highway) back to our apartment. It was a busy weekend but a good one.
