Empty Classes

The classrooms sure are empty. Many of the students have been selected to compete in the county track and field competition. I was surprised to see so many students missing because I didn’t think that the school’s track and field team was that large. I asked Tsukune Sensei about and she informed me that Asahi Junior High doesn’t have a track and field team so the school selects students every year who then go and compete. Even with many of the students absent the teachers are sticking to their lesson plans.
I taught first period. The students had to free-write a diary about what they did yesterday or over the weekend. They had to use sentences that used time: “I was playing tennis at eight in the morning”. I always have fun when the students free write because it gives me a chance to wander around the room and interact with them one on one as I correct their mistakes.
