Yesterday was TV night at my apartment. Brooke, Katie, Jana, and Andrea came over and we watched Thursday’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy and episode four of Hana Yori Dango: Returns.
My first thought was that the toxic blood was a bit over the top and unrealistic. I know they research things like this to make sure they can happen but it was still a bit lame in my mind. Sure it added tension and drama but it wasn’t the best plot that I have seen.
Meredith’s mom, now that was my favorite part of the episode. We hear so much about her and how she used to be and then to have her lucid, WOW! I mean that woman is…well…I don’t have words to describe her. I would say cold. When she yelled at Meredith and told her that she was going soft because she was happy, I wanted to jump through the screen and slap her but I can understand what made her that way. She is one of the most fascinating characters in the show.
Could there be any more sexual tension between Addison and Alex? I loved Callie’s description of Alex being the turkey and Addison being the bear. I think the attraction that Addison feels for Alex is wonderful and I love how Alex knows it and taunts her with it. I do have to say that I am a bit disappointed that Addison slept with Mark but really I guess she had to do something.
I cannot believe that George and Callie eloped. I thought that Callie was either going to make George wait or say no. I am pleased that George stood up for Callie at the end of the show and I think that Callie is right in her assessment of his friends, I think she used the term judgmental.
Christina and Burke had the best moment at the end of the show when she told him that she “didn’t do rings” and that “we could hire a wife”. His reaction was wonderful and I loved the way that Christina’s face lit up when he picked her up and started spinning her in circles.
The free clinic is going to be interesting to see it develop as a plot line and I think it is going to be good for Bailey and Izzie to work on it together. I see many interesting plots coming from that clinic.
The love triangle is going to drive me nuts. Between Makino’s feelings for Domyoji and Hanazawa Rui’s feelings for Makino I might die from overload before the season ends. I am loving Rui, he is taking really good care of Makino and I think he does care for her but even so I still want her to end up with Domyoji.
As we get more of the background story on Domyoji’s flashbacks I can understand why he is pushing Makino away, he feels responsible for the man who jumped and for the people who were laid off because of the comment that he made. He now feels that it is his responsibility to keep the company going and if marrying the other girl will help, he will attempt to do that. But I really can’t see him sacrificing all of his happiness for the company, he is not his mother.
I cannot wait to see how the girl Yuki is taking tea lesson from, ties in with the tea guy from the F4. His reaction to the seeing the tea cup shows he some how knows her. I just hope that it doesn’t end up hurting Yuki.
The one thing that I love about J-Dramas is that they are so great at leaving the viewer hanging. We still don’t know what Domyoji said, we have no idea what happened with his sister, we don’t know the relation between the tea girl and the tea guy from the F4, we don’t know if Makino’s family will get out of trouble, and we have no idea who Makino will end up with….AHHHH, it is enough to drive a person nuts.
The other great thing about J-Dramas is that they end! It is not like in America where a series will keep going, even after it should have ended…four or five seasons ago. They are short, ten to twelve episodes and they have an ending. It is great.
