"A Mystery" & "Watching From Outside--"

"A Mystery"

a Mystery - why my thoughts stray to you
[eyes so clichely blue]
so long I longed to be away from us
separation was Beauty in Pain
my life was no longer Mundane
as friends replaced and filled
years and babies and wives and tears later
your photo epilogues our era
and makes my eyes swell, heart jumps to
my throat
to cut you from my Memory
without stitching you back in
patchwork paper dolls with perforated edges
taped and torn in layers.
long gone in Time, but ever Present.

"Watching From Outside-"

Jealousy pours from opened veins
a quill scribbles half coherent
"why"s and "poor me"s
in poetic retribution
                         revelation
                                   revulsion.
Anger boils hot from squeezed tight eyelids
in quiet corners and dark
while sun glints off pearlywhites
and cheshire faces--cat masks
A pointless waste of moments
and fluids.
