Appearently, Global Warming has gotten so bad that some scientists have suggested we send a trillion flying saucers into space to provide shade for the Earth.

I am not making this up.

Another desperate idea is to build an artificial volcano that would spew light-reflecting sulfates high into the sky. ( Appearently, some scientists think it is better ( Read more... )

I Guess Global Warming Isn't All Bad pabst_drinker April 2 2007, 23:18:11 UTC
It's funny you bring that up,I was watching that documentary that Al Gore made about global warming, About half way through it the movie got really interesting. Apparently because all of the global warming icecaps are melting, Polar Bears which are essentially migratory predators, are dying off. It seems that they can no longer travel across the ice shelfs year round to hunt and that for the first time ever polar bears have been found drowned because they could not find any stable ice. As I am well aware the polar bear is a natural predator of the seal. Without the polar bear the seal population will rise exponentially. The governments of the world will have no choice but to allow seals to be hunted again and face their deadliest adversary Brian "the baby seal clubber" Lowe. I guess sometimes dreams really do come true.

I'll never forget what my extremely intelligent Astronomy professor (who worked not only for NASA, but for the United States Air Force, creating the best radars in the world and then teaching highly trained people how to use them) told me about global warming ( ... )

Hehe I know Erik. I wasn't attacking you or anything. I just get so heated whenever I hear that topic brought up. It's such stupidity, and that drives me bonkers. I wish people weren't so gullable...

I was so insanely fascinated by what my professor had to say about the issue of global warming. I still talk about it with my friend (who took the class with me) to this day. :)

The real task is whether or not I can explain things without boring my audience. HAHAHA
