i just don't understand why the catholic church is so against gay marriages. they (and many other people) talk about how it's going to destroy the term "family". gay and lesbians aren't going to be marrying anyone of the opposite sex anyway, and they're going to have relationships just like straight people, they're going to still live together ( Read more... )

You know I'm Catholic, and as my uncle and I were talking earlier this week..he said "Catholic people can kill, rape, molest, steal, and come Sunday their *holy* and *pure* again", and then something about how the Catholic church making so much money to "help" people, then when a member of that churchs' house burns down all they can say is "we'll pray for you". It couldn't crack me up more on how much truth is in that. Or my brother's good friend Jerry who I talk too a lot is all of sudden "holy" because he realizes cheating on every girlfriend he has ever had is not rightful, so now he only does it sometimes..lol.

I don't know why in God's name I was Catholic, I usually do say God sometimes. Though I believe in something whether its a sheep I'm praying too or a skinny brown version of Santa Clause, I do it out of a force of habit. I know it may seem crazy, but I guess sometimes its nice to have something to have faith in even if you have no proof its there, or it exists. But over the past few years I've been fighting with my grandma on how "hypocritical" Catholic people are, or how the church itself is.

I think society needs to accept marriages, if they love eachother why not? I took this AOL poll, and it pissed me off on how many people were against it. People assume that if your gay that it'll rub off on others. Or by making it legal, it automatically accepts this..and why shouldn't they be accepted? Black people fought for freedom, Indians fought for their land, now Gay people have to fight to be *together* It's crazy how hyprocritical the government is. How we're taught Columbus was this amazing guy, only he wasn't, and he had others do his *dirty* work. Like you can blame someone for fighting to keep the land that is there's. Even though most things about Mrs. Stuehmer I don't care for, next to Mrs. Voss I think I learned the most from her. I guess I'm going off topic with my ranting..so excuse me:)
