i just don't understand why the
catholic church is so against gay marriages. they (and many other people) talk about how it's going to destroy the term "family". gay and lesbians aren't going to be marrying anyone of the opposite sex anyway, and they're going to have relationships just like straight people, they're going to still live together and raise children (which i guess everyone has a problem with, too?) so why not let them get married? how are they altering in any way how we perceive families? who cares what it says in the bible about that sodom and gomorra shit. it's just a fucking piece of paper and a tax break, get over it. catholics piss me off.
"Now the associations of homosexuals have a potent arm to obtain further concessions on the road toward full equality with married couples, including the right to adoption," Cardinal Karl Lehman complained. Oh no, heaven forbid we treat these heathens like real people. For god sake, we gave them "equality" in the workplace, what more do they want!?!?! certainly we can't let them raise our children or they'll turn them gay, too, right!?! right!?!
grrr...... i want to punch everyone who thinks that way right in the face. i'll set a time and date soon and give you all directions to my house so you'll know where to show up.
to sum up my little rant, here's a nice quote i nabbed from alphax on
fark.comThe Catholic church is against homosexuality, abortion, birth control, masturbation, and pretty much anything that doesn't make a whole lot of babies. You'd think that with over 5 billion people on Earth that they'd let up a bit.
