well, it was inevitable, phish is no more. and what do i have to say about this?
i'm happy in a way. the band is not what they used to be. long forgotten are the days of junta and lawn boy. the last couple albums have been mediocre at best. it is time. it is time for them to go to different pastures and create something better. vida blue is fantastic and i love mike's album.
here is my one and only complaint.
if phish were feeling the way they are about going their seperate ways, wouldn't they want to go on one last fond farewell, adios tour. instead, they are playing just a few cities and then ending it all at conventry. why not say goodbye to the rest of us who can't make it to new york or vermont? how was i supposed to know last year would be their last full-fledged tour?
come on guys! just one last go-round!
but we have to remember all the good times and great music from the past 21 years. i remember when i first got junta and my life changed. that is one example of memories i will carry with me. oh, and the over 20 shows.
so since phish won't be around for much longer, maybe some other bands will start to gain more speed like moe., umphrey's mcgee and the many others out there struggling.
so long phish, it's been grand.
