I heard an interesting little factoid this morning on the radio. Southwest and JetBlue are slowing their planes to save fuel. They are adding a couple of minutes to their flights, lowering the average airspeed by a few miles per hour, and achieving significant savings. Considering how much time I factored in for delays when I would fly (I've since discovered any trip 15 hours or under is more fun for me by car), three minutes doesn't seem like anything at all.
