I am a flake

Jul 31, 2006 17:30

I am in the airport where I bought 30 minutes of connection time in order to email Will and tell him that:

OH MY GOD I TOOK HIS KEYS WITH ME BY ACCIDENT TO THE AIRPORT AND LOCKED THE DOOR TO THE APARTMENT BEHIND ME.

Luckily, his apartment building overseeing lady was there and she had an extra set of keys and he still seems willing to be my friend.

Anyone think I was a little more stressed about leaving France than I thought?

And somewhere in my checked luggage is my american cell phone which I was supposed to recover so I could call my Mom when I landed and find out if she's coming to get me. And the American-British converter that I was going to use to recharge my phone in the airport in London.

On the other hand, the cab driver proposed to me on the way to the airport. And, amusingly, after Manning and I had a discussion at lunch about tuing and vousing (the s is silent, of course, in vousing), the cabbie tued me from the beginning. I guess since he was planning on proposing it was only normal. It would be a little awkward, it seems to me, to propose to someone using the formal.

My flight is boarding but I am going to wait. This is my new adult persona, I am no longer going to rush to board first, but rather wait patiently and make the most of my wireless minutes. By rambling on on live journal.

travel, friends
