R.I.P.
The Wraith
Born 1991, Kentucky Ford Truck assembly plant, USA
Died 9-25-06 2006, Clayton, NJ

Cause of Death:
Clutch slave cylinder failure. This part is necessary for the truck to be put in gear with the engine running (so it runs [relativly] fine, but can't actually move any where). Replacement requires the entire transmission's removal. I don't have the money, the tools, the space, or the knowledge to handle this job... I thought it would be an external cylinder, Ford used that model once. When the part was delivered today, it was very apparent that it's an internal cylinder that the input shaft of the transmission must ride through, hence the full transmission removal required for the replacement.

God damn it.

I'm now again without wheels.

I tired to get a car loan from my bank, (Commerce) two weeks ago. They said there is no way they can give me a loan. I've got no one who can do the work on my truck, at least no one who will do it without charging me the $400+ for the labor intensive repair. Plus while the trans is out, I may as well replace the clutch itself as well (it's also on it's way to being useless) which is another $200+ worth of just parts, plus probably more labor.

Yeah, fucked. Dry.
