Here comes Sandy

Well, here's the latest from Weather Underground concerning the "Frankenstorm" that's going to destroy all civilization on the East Coast: http://www.wunderground.com/q/zmw:18067.1.99999

I've seen people acting like the Martians were going to invade tomorrow at the stores; thankfully I have a market within a few blocks of my house and I can walk there if it gets truly dire. They have a high wind warning, but if the wind can blow me away it's doing pretty good.

There's also a flood watch, but I'm a mile or more from the nearest river and rather high up as well, so if flood waters get this high it's a sign to start loading the ark with animals two by two.

My biggest worry is a power outage, as PP&L has gotten rather careless about such things of late. But even then we're still in mid-Autumn so our freezing is unlikely to be a concern, and we've got flashlights (if I can convince my sister to share rather than horde them all).

See you all after this whole mess is over and if you're living down by the coast or in lowlands in the Mid-Atlantic area then please take care and watch out.

weather, home
