Vienna 2005 Day 1

We just got back from the breakfast buffet. Had a croissant with jam, some meats and cheeses, some eggs and bacon, fresh-squeezed mango juice. The hotel is nice, very cozy, and it turns out we can steal wireless from some neighbor's un(mis)configured netgear router. Slick.

We left Saturday morning on a plane for Chicago. Spent a few minutes in the new wing of Seatac airport. I guess they just built it. On the plane ride to Chicago they kept bringing us drinks (my first time in first class). In Chicago we were informed that our flight to Frankfurt was delayed by a couple hours, and so they gave us free drinks. When we finally got going again they gave us free drinks and some really good food for dinner. Did I mention the free drinks? Because they were free. I had a light buzz going on the whole time.

We just barely caught our flight to Vienna (Wien) and were pleasantly surprised to see our luggage arrive with us. Some guy in a minivan drove us to our hotel. Walked around downtown for an hour or so (to avoid falling asleep at 18:00), ate some food, went back to the room and crashed.

Today we will try to find a decent market (too much restaurant food is no fun), and then we have tickets to see Tosca tonight at the Vienna Opera House. I brought my tuxedo.
