Who knows, they could very well stick stuff on the DVD. The movie's runtime was already 2hrs and 30mins basically--and with our screen error, we got out a little later, and then our geek asses watched the entire credits, which were REALLY LONG. It could be they wanted to put more in but WB was worried about it turning into Titanic.
I read the Time review of the film today and who peed in Richard Corliss' Cheerios? His review is here. I think Corliss is also a Harmony shipper based on something he writes in there, lol. (In the magazine version, there's a small pull-out exploring where three of the heroes and three of the enemies are in the movie, but it says Ginny has "gone into hiding elsewhere." ( ... )
