Farewell For Now

May 25, 2007 13:53

Sorry about this guys. I've sort of been avoiding posting this. I've gotten a new job for the rest of the summer. It's at Dinosaur Provincial Park and it pays more than 1.5x what I am making now. I also get to get away from my boss at my current job, the Troll. I'll get to spend the summer at my Mom's and get out of the city. Ilumena lives down there too, so I'll get to see her a lot more than I do during the year. It'll be nice. There's just one problem....

Mom doesn't have the internet. WOE

I won't be back here until september either. This means that I'll be more or less disappearing for the next three months or so. This job just came out of nowhere!

So, random life update (besides the new job); so you'll at least know what was going on up till now.

Mike stayed over here for a little more than a week. He left on Wednesday and he was here from the Monday of the week before. Dad likes him. Yay. He was in between jobs. His last one was insane but this new one is apparently going to be nice. It'll be a day shift at least, and he'll get weekends off. I don't like it when he works himself to death. That's my job. Things were kind of rough between us for awhile, there were a lot of issues that I have rather skillfully been avoiding that I don't think Mike was even aware of. We even almost had a fight. But it's all water under the bridge now. We talked everything out. It's kind of hard to dance around a subject when the person you are trying to avoid is staying at your house. This is going to sound really weird but the most frustrating part was that Mike was all maturity and patience and understanding. That's not the way that normal people resolve their issues. At least, from my experience. XD Make's ya wonder what I did to deserve a guy like this.

I've gotten a couple new books. Bedlam's Edge and Otherworld. Both are written by Mercedes Lackey and from two series which are tied together. The first one is from the Bedlam's Bard series and the second on is from the SERRAted Edge series. They are from the Urban Fantasy genre. Bedlam's Edge is a series of short stories which take place in the Bedlam-verse. You've got Elves rescuing children from kidnappings at Reneissance Fairs and zombies at Mardi Gras. How can you say no? Otherworld has Elves that drive around in race cars. It's funny funny stuff that's fast paced and action packed. I've loved Bedlam's Bard for years and am just getting into SERRAted Edge now. I reccomend them for anyone who is looking for some fantasy action laced with tongue in cheek humour.

That's about it for now I think. I'll talk to you guys when I can to let you know I am still alive. Hopefully I can prod Ilumena into keeping me up to speed with Holic and Tsubasa so I'm not totally out of the loop when I get back. Here's hoping.
