(no subject)
I hate writing rough drafts. I hate writing essays. I'm good at them: I can crank out a well-faked-through three-point essay in under half-an-hour if absolutely necessary, I just hate them. And so here I sit, trying to write a blasted rough draft of and essay-paper-thing on "what the goal of public education in a democracy should be". Let's try funded and competent. And teachers should need to teach for at least five years, if not ten, to get tenure, kthxbye. And don't get on me for saying that: I want to possibly be a teacher.
Ate lunch with Pam yesterday. She used to really intimidate me, but now that I've spent time with her she's really nice and a lot of fun. We talked about musicals and boys. May I just say how nice it is to talk about boys/dating/love/crushes/etc. with someone who's got a little expirience in that department? Don't get me wrong, those fantasy sessions about ideal boyfriends in the school kitchen were great...anyway. It's also nice to talk to someone who doesn't know half the people I'm talking about. It lessens the overall embarasment factor, and the "why this crush is pointless/stupid/against your religion" lectures.
In other news, I abuse slash marks and hyphens more than can possibly be healthy. It's probably because I'm trying to be super-perfect in my general grammar and punctuation in my rought draft from hell, because of course I am an English geek who gets a vague impression that she is constantly on a different page (or thought train) than her English teacher.
I think I shall procrastinate by making puppet icons. I found some lovely icons last night that would be perfect for a new puppet...I just have to decide who. I do need another girl. I contemplated Attolia, from Megan Whalen Turner's Eugenides books, but I'm not sure. If anyone has any thoughts, lemme know. Actually, I think Hecate's been inactive long enough that I could pick her up, and I do like her...
I have been contemplating starting a WIW RP. I should join the community and ask them if any of them might be interested.
I should get Bedivere his own AIM name.
Mmm...TicTacs. I am not entirely pleased with how my TicTac icon turned out, but considering I'm basically learning PaintShop my clicking buttons, it's not bad. I don't have the time to really sit down and learn it, so I'm using my sister's method.
And now I'll end this, then post a reference list of my anti-OTPs, and then do other things. Yes. And put more music on.
